Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" area. It is the West Island, to those not familiar with it, is an extensive area that extends from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel was born there and her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel grew up in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. Her early ambition was to be a dancer however a rapid growth rate meant that she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. In a recent interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I am 6 feet and 1 inch." After I surpassed my male counterparts at that point, I gave up. The Brugel is one of the former dancers that turned into acting. Her high school teacher school encouraged her into the right direction. Her teacher invited her to take part in an audition in a school production. Following a trial her options, she was eventually the main character in Anne of Green Gables.
